Phase 2: Open Access
Anticipating and Addressing Dilemmas:
Resistance to Adoption: Transparently working towards consensus and developing facilities such as templates to mitigate resistance due to increased workload.
Confidentiality Concerns: Developing clear guidelines and provisions for embargoed subsets of replication packages to address concerns over proprietary procedures.
Ownership Issues: Harmonizing practices with external academic partners and developing clear policies to address data ownership concerns stemming from collaborations.
IP Protection: Developing policies for delineating data embargo before embarking on Open Access to address concerns over IP protection.
Return on Investment: Emphasizing the utility of replication packages for enhancing internal processes and improving research quality to justify the investment of time and resources.
Diversity of Fields: Striking a balance between data diversity and uniformity of replication package structure to accommodate the varied types and quantity of data and standards/demands from relevant research communities.
Pilot Phase Implementation and Feedback:
Implementing pilot phases with clear definitions and seeking feedback from stakeholders to refine procedures and address challenges.
Conducting surveys and assessments to gauge the effectiveness and feasibility of implemented strategies and making necessary adjustments as needed.
