The data center provides 5 GB of cloud storage at the Clausthal server site as an initial benefit of TUCloud for employees of TU. Storage quotas for projects can be increased upon request. Planning, setting up, and using the service are assisted, including creating project accounts.

Data Cloud

the TU Clausthal's computer center allows the use of the Academic Cloud of the GWDG Göttingen. Here 50GB of storage space is available at the server location Göttingen. An advantage over external cloud services is, for example, the easier clarification of data protection issues.

In addition to access via a browser, there is also a software that enables the synchronization of files and directories on your PC. For detailed instructions on how to use the Academiccloud in a web browser and how to synchronize on your computer, please refer to the data center documentation

Cryptshare

Cryptshare enables secure file transfers of up to 20 GB total size and is accessible at cryptshare.tu-clausthal.de. Users can upload files via the web interface and share them for download or upload from other locations. The entire process, including uploading, intermediate storage, and retrieval, is secured using cryptographic procedures. Automatic email notifications are sent throughout the process. Users must utilize a tu-clausthal.de email address for both sender and recipient. Messages and files can be sent to one or more recipients akin to regular email. Additionally, users can verify their email before sending and set passwords for added security during file retrieval.
